Squint.... No, STARE at these FABULOUS pieces.... I'm in love.

So, the name of the European company is Squint. Maybe because they are so bright and bold one might need some shades to behold their custom upholstered glory... or... perhaps the namesake is due to the hefty price tag of these couture furniture beauties.... either way, I will squint, stare, and obsess away...

Dear all who love me... Pretty please go sell a limb and buy me one of these pretties for Christmas??? Just go here and shop!....

I am already thinking of ways to re-furbish items to use as an eccentric wedding piece - how cool would one of those love seats be at a reception! I know, ice cold...

Tick-Tock!

Eeek! I am getting SO excited to reveal my table-scapes that I am doing with the fabulous duo, Nine Photography next Friday at my photo shoot! I have been racking my brain (and subsequently my signature poof) for some really unique table settings that I know you will just love! I can't wait to show you whats up my sleeve... other than an adorable bangle....

I met tonight with an AMAZING floral designer, Bows&Arrows - if you have not been there, please check out thier super cool shop in lower Greenville in Dallas. They showcase local artists monthly and all art displayed is available for purchase! What??!! I know - an AMAZING idea. This months theme, "neon". I was trying hard to focus at the task at hand since the eclectic art was drawing me in - I wanted to buy everything!! Note to self: Do NOT bring credit cards to meetings :) I will post pics soon so you can vouch for how awesome it was!

... What else... well, Mrs. Ginny Pruitt will be at the photo shoot too! She will be showcasing her famous, "wall of light" screens... LOVE them. I just want to have a set as my constant backdrop... is that weird? I mean, we all look better in candlelight, right?

Pics to come of all above, but for now, I MUST get my beauty sleep!

Always a Bridesmaid....

Thanks to the infamous movie, 27 Dresses brides began to realize that maybe it wasn't The Sweetest Thing to adorn your lovely leading ladies in taffeta and tulle.

Enter, the scene stealer - Bella Bridesmaid. With so many fabulous dresses to choose from, girls will be lining up to be fitted and frocked for your big day. Here is a sneak peek of some of my faves!

A favorite color combo of mine, pop orange and fuschia, this colorblocked dress from LulaKate is just adorable. The team at LK is also great, and will provide you with gratis fabric swatches that are HUGE, not the usual 1x1 square given by some shops!

I am just obsessed with the flat ruffle front of this, from Simple Dress and actually almost picked it for my girls to wear in my own wedding. How cute would this be with a waist belt and cardi to re-wear?! - Yes, you can re-wear these dresses and not look like you are going to a formal - don't mind if I do....

For the fashionista bride, (whom we ALL love) this dress would be just perfect for her swanky sisters... one of my favorite designers, Thread Design truly raises the bar, they offer multiple colors in this style which would take it from more conservative to high style in a pop color. If you chose the muted tone, might I suggest some fabulous heels  to amp it up!

Earn Your Stripes...

So! I wanted a fun picture in my house without having to buy one, and came across this old, brown and gold zebra picture from my college apartment days (what was I thinking!) and decided to turn it into an original piece - here are the results. Unfortunately, I don't have the "before" shots, but I am doing another one again soon (of her cheetah counterpart - you know, college apartments and jungle themes) and will be sure to take them!

Not So Destination Wedding...

Oh the benefits to a destination wedding...

  • Smaller, more intimate guest list
  • It's a mini vacation for everyone, and you usually get to spend more quality time with guests, versus  usual rushed reception chat
  • Most people wont travel.... this includes the obligatory invitee's (translation: co-worker "Awkward Annie" probably won't show) ~ Cheers!

But, with the current economic environment, most brides are shying away from destinations, in order to eliminate the burden of plane tickets and expensive resort lodging.

SO! I propose the best of BOTH worlds... A Not So Destination Wedding...

Below are examples of BEAUTIFUL private homes you can rent for a week - THINK: Rehearsal, Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding, Reception - all can happen here, as well as lodging for your wedding party! A mini vacation for everyone... minus passports and baggage fees ~ Count me in!!

Here are two of my favorite locations in Austin, TX. Both are water front properties with great pools. Most options are equal to or LESS expensive to rent for a WEEK than to reserve a typical venue for a NIGHT! What?! I know!

First, I will show you a rustic selection, followed by a more modern one. I loved both and couldn't decide on a favorite... It was like... chic cowboy boots or cute heels?... decisions, decisions...
