Butterfly Kisses... Cheyenne & Will

When I first met Cheyenne and Will, I knew they wanted a fun and colorful wedding that would fit thier personalities! Three things they both love: fashion, candy and above all, each other. The other item that makes Cheyenne's heart flutter is butterflies. She wanted the colorful, parallel winged monarchs to be the central theme of her big day; held at The Dallas Arboretum. I made custom butterflies worn by the groomsmen in lieu of traditional flowers.

The reception was held in her father's backyard... if you can call it that. When I first visited, I was blown away. The large swimming pool would be the future holder of lit candles that glittered off the  water, there was a large gazebo made by her dad, and custom landscaping by her step mother; who also provided all the catering. ALL of it. By hand. And let me tell you, it rivaled any and all full blown caterers I have ever tasted!

The only goody that wasn't made by family was the gorgeous cake by Sugar Bee Sweets, and of course the candy bar I set up to reflect all the couples' favorite goodies... and yes, I made a special bag for Cheyenne and Will to take with them on the honeymoon!

See below what a gorgeous couple the two make - Here is to butterflies and sweet candy kisses to Mr. & Mrs. Battle.

Jackie & Hiroshi Wedding Day - Nylo Los Colinas

When I met with my bride Jackie and heard about her wedding details to fiance Hirsohi Saka, I was instantly excited. Jackie and Hiroshi, who is Japanese, incorporated the Japanese tradition of hand making "Paper Cranes" into their ceremony. As the tradition goes, when a couple folds 1,000 paper cranes, they will receive a blessing - a long and happy marriage; since the act of making the origami teaches the two patience and teamwork. (Um, yes, yes it does.)

So, yes, the two folded, tied, AND strung 1,000 Japanese origami paper cranes creating a "curtain" that would hang behind them as they said thier vows.

Coinciding with the strong lines of the paper cranes, Jackie wanted lots of modern elements and clean, contemporary details for her big day. The venue she chose fit the theme perfectly, "Nylo" in  Los Colinas"!

She chose a cake, executed to PERFECTION by Heidi, at "Sugar Bee Sweets". The geometric wedding cake was a definite favorite of mine, as I had never seen one like it! Alicia with "Bows and Arrows" delivered beautiful blooms and grass that lined Jackie's custom graphic aisle with candlelight.

Guests flew in straight from Japan and even wore traditional kimonos. It was absolutely gorgeous!

Enjoy some pictures from her day with photos from Amanda of, "Backroad Photography"!

Byrds Of A Feather... Lindsay & Roy's Summer Wedding

When I first met Lindsay I was astonished to learn that her soon to be hubby, Roy,  was from my tiny hometown! I was even FURTHER astonished to realize that her current last name was Duckworth, and her new last name would be Byrd. All of these bird conotations made a perfect theme for the couples' summer nuptials!

Enjoy!
